Representative Sara Rasmussen (R-Anchorage), a member of the House Resources Committee, has issued a strongly-worded letter to the Seattle City Council who, last week, passed a resolution barring the City from doing business with any companies that enable drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

In her letter, she cites the economic ties between Alaska and the Puget Sound Region and reminds that Council that more than 113,000 jobs in the Seattle-area are sustained partially or entirely by resource development work in Alaska. Additionally, she mentions the widespread, bipartisan support among Alaskans for responsible resource development in the North Slope region.
