Ousted Senate Majority Leader Mia Costello and House Minority Leader Lance Pruitt sent another letter to Governor Michael J. Dunleavy on Monday seeking additional changes to the governor’s special session call. The letter specifically mentions federal match road funding, funding to fully implement the recently signed crime package, HB 49, and items related to the reverse sweep.

“Our group of 22 has been active in trying to broker a compromise and bring members of the legislature together,” said Sen. Mia Costello (R-Anchorage). “We need to resolve this constitutional impasse as quickly as possible. Federal funding deadlines are coming up quick and we want to make sure that we don’t miss out on these important road and airport projects.”

“We have been talking with our counterparts in the House and Senate and have communicated we need a solution that doesn’t put us at odds with the law,” added Rep. Lance Pruitt (R-Anchorage), House Minority Leader. “Until that happens, we’re going to continue talking to our colleagues on pushing these negotiations forward to a swift resolution.”
