Rep. DeLena Johnson (R)
Alaska’s 11th District — Palmer
I am committed to getting Alaska on a sound fiscal path, with a practical voice and the backbone to stand up for Alaskans.
Our current woes originated with a drop in oil price and production. The resulting revenue decrease has been ignored and that just doesn’t make sense. Alaska is at a crossroads. State government continues to spend beyond sustainable limits, while proposals to pay for this expenditure have resulted in taking away half your PFD check, attempting to impose new taxes on wages and raiding our Permanent Fund earnings reserve. Further, short sighted bills like SB91 were enacted, externalizing the real cost of crime onto hard working Alaskans and helping to create a crime wave unprecedented in Alaska’s history.
My objectives as your representative are straightforward:
• Substantially reduce State spending on non-essential services
• Promote development of our natural resources.
• Distribute a full PFD, as described in current statute.
• Repeal of SB-91, and promote public safety.
• No new income taxes.
• Advocate for early education funding.
• Ensure veterans and seniors can maintain quality of life.
It is an honor to serve as your elected official. I appreciate the trust given to me and understand that I work for you.
